News From Manchester

I sent an email last night to my 'country cousins' in Manchester and received some sad news today - strange considering the timing. My cousin's husband Ian, who according to my brother James is "a giant of a cop", emailed back to let me know that my Uncle George Lalley, brother to my father, died at his home yesterday, aged 72. I had the good fortune to meet George a couple of times - (once as an adult), and he was a truly sweet man. He reminded me a lot of my father in his manner and body language, and the way he liked to 'burst into song'. He liked the classic crooners I think.

R.I.P. George Lalley. Don't let your big brother Jimmy pick on you in the Afterlife.
